Social Media Woes

Social media is a very fun way to stay in touch with friends across the globe and share with others what you have been up to. For some of us though, social media can be taken very seriously. For photographers I think Instagram is practically looked at as a professional portfolio of our work. This is something I’ve been battling recently. I like to snap photos on my phone and post them while I’m out doing things, but I also like to post some of my work. It seems that most photographer I come across either post only work, or only photos sharing about their lives. I’m trying to decide what direction I’d like to go. I can see both sides of the argument, but I’ve always seen social media as being fun and not too serious, so I may just do my own thing regardless.

Shooting

I haven’t been shooting as much lately, but this week I got back in the swing of it. I shot a lot this week, so this post will include a couple photos from the shoots as well as some behind the scenes material Caleb Schlabach shot. Hope you enjoy!

Succesful Environment

iPhone pic of the grove.

Hey guys,

So I hung out with my buddy Stephen tonight and it prompted some writing. After Stephen and I solved all the world’s problems we came around to the topic of friends and social groups. Stephen and I are both very driven for success and we work hard. We disagree on plenty of things, but one thing I think we agreed on is that it’s important to put yourself in a successful environment. Do things that make you better, hang out with people that push you to be better, and never settle for anything. I think that being successful and obtaining some of your goals starts with what you do and who you’re with. I think most of us either live up to our friends status, or we stoop down to them. I try to spend my time with people that make me want to be better.  Whether you like it or not the people you spend time with influence you, don’t ever forget that.

P.S. Make sure you drop me an email telling me how much you hate the photo I posted with this blog. Definitely not my best work.

Cheers,

Matt
